As a result of researches for target groups conducted within the scope of Kızılaykart, it has been detected that the biggest obstacle for foreigners’ employment and social cohesion is the language barrier. Within this framework, Adult Language Training for Syrians under Temporary Protection in Turkey programme is being implemented with the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP).
Foreigners who are going to participate in the Adult Language Training Programme, which is being implemented in 10 provinces (Adana, Bursa, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kilis, Konya, Mersin, Şanlıurfa), are provided with cash support through Kızılaykart in consideration of their participation. Trainees are paid TL 6,42 per hour for their participation in the training (three hours a day, three days a week). The programme is funded by resources provided by the EU Trust Fund (EUTF) for Intervention in the Syrian Crisis. The target audience is 52.000 people.
